“Now I have to constantly restrain myself”: Former Singapore president Halimah Yacob said on Wednesday (Aug 19) that she now thinks twice about patting children on the head, as she reflected on a society she described as becoming more fragmented.
Her remarks appeared to reference a recent incident in which an elderly man was seen on video being shoved to the ground after patting a young girl on the head.
Mdm Halimah was speaking at the launch of two new active ageing centres in Tampines, where she called for meaningful activities to be held that can bring generations together and strengthen social bonds. #sgnews #singapore
