SA's rape stats under the spotlight

Questions have been raised about South Africa's official rape statistics, with the TEARS Foundation saying the reported decline in statutory rape cases does not reflect what survivors are experiencing.

At the same time, opposition parties are warning that shortages of rape kits at police stations are undermining investigations and delaying justice.
