Row over Western Cape school admissions

The Basic Education Portfolio Committee is escalating its fight with the Western Cape Education Department over alleged racial profiling in school admissions.

The committee wants, what it calls discriminatory requirements, removed from application forms.

It has resolved to seek legal counsel from the Office of the National Assembly Speaker on how to compel the province to make the changes.
