Public Protector confirms over 40,000 students improperly funded by NSFAS

The Public Protector's office has found NSFAS, the Department of Higher Education, and universities guilty of systemic maladministration.

Releasing her findings in Pretoria, Public Protector, Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka said the failures have left thousands of poor students unfunded, without accommodation, or deregistered at the start of every academic year.
