Trump says Kim Jong Un has responded to his outreach

President Donald Trump said Monday (Aug 17) that Kim Jong Un had responded to his recent outreach, a day after he announced that the US would "substantially reduce" joint military drills with South Korea. Trump linked the decision to dial back on drills with South Korea's refusal to help with the war with Iran.

Trump was also asked what he had to say to people who asked if he is prioritising the interests of North Korea over long-time allies like South Korea.
