City of Cape Town's new fixed charges declared invalid

The Western Cape High Court has declared the City of Cape Town's new fixed charges invalid and unlawful.

The City's introduction of the fixed charges for water, sanitation, and cleaning will now be set aside from the end of June this year.

Sandra Dickson, founder of civil group, STOP Cape Town says they have been fighting against the fixed charges since 2018.
