*Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala has denied any links to Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, telling the Madlanga Commission that he has never met, spoken to or interacted with the minister, who was placed on leave of absence in July last year by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

*In Zimbabwe, the death toll in the Lake Kariba ferry disaster has risen to 84. According to the country's broadcaster, 18 of the victims are children.
