Madlanga Commission | Day 160 of Madlanga Commission

The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system, also known as the Madlanga Commission, will today and tomorrow hear testimony from Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala, regarded as a central figure in the allegations made by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lt-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, during his media briefing in July last year.

Matlala first appeared before the Commission on 15 July 2026, but, in terms of a ruling handed down by Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, his testimony was postponed to 1 September 2026.

He will now appear before the Commission today and tomorrow under subpoena.
