A man has been charged with attempting to assassinate US President Donald Trump, after a security breach that disrupted the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
California man Cole Tomas Allen, 31, has appeared in a federal court in Washington, DC, and has also been charged with interstate transportation of a firearm to commit a felony and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.
The US Attorney for Washington DC, Jeanine Pirro, says more charges are expected to be laid.
