Why Gillman Barracks and Sunset Way sites are needed for housing: Alvin Tan

Gillman Barracks and Sunset Way are needed to meet Singapore's housing needs over the next decade, as many alternative sites suggested by the public are already being redeveloped, required for other national uses or cannot be developed yet, said Minister of State for National Development Alvin Tan.

Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Aug 4), he added that housing plans for Sunset Way have been reflected in the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s Master Plan since 1980, while Gillman Barracks was identified for study in 2024. #singapore #sgnews
