Peace banner and proposal atop Empire State Building in NYC

Two people climbed to the top of the Empire State Building's antenna and unfurled a banner reading: “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace.”

The pair, dressed in black and wearing masks, balanced on a narrow ledge more than 440 metres above New York before one appeared to propose. They hugged, kissed and took selfies after what appeared to be a marriage proposal before climbing back down. Police later took both into custody. No injuries were reported.
