#Watch | Public sector oil marketing companies have reported a sharp rise in Auto LPG sales from 177 TPD in February to 296 TPD in April, a 67% increase driven by market share shifting from private players. Growth has been strong in states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rajasthan, and West Bengal.

Around 6100 awareness camps have been conducted for 5 kg LPG cylinders, leading to the sale of about 16.5 lakh cylinders since 23 March. The government is also expanding the PNG network through faster approvals and deemed clearances, resulting in 4.68 lakh new connections, 5.23 lakh registrations, and over 37,000 LPG users switching to PNG.

Fuel supply remains stable, with adequate petrol and diesel availability, optimal refinery operations, sufficient crude inventories, and increased domestic LPG production. Enforcement action continues with 2,900 inspections, penalties on 255 distributors, and 65 suspensions.
