Coast leaders intensify campaign for President Ruto

Coast leaders allied to the Broadbased government have intensified calls for residents to enlist as voters en masse to increase the region's votes to 4 million. Led by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi and Cabinet Secretaries Ali Hassan Joho, and Salim Mvurya, the leaders argued that the region needs a bigger stake in President William Ruto’s second term in office. Meanwhile, a section of Mijikenda elders has endorsed former Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa as their preferred Kilifi county gubernatorial candidate.
