OUTA Challenges AARTO: CEO Wayne Duvenage Explains

The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse, OUTA, has approached the High Court in a bid to halt the rollout of the new AARTO traffic fine system.

The organisation was seeking an urgent interdict, arguing that the legislation could unfairly affect motorists with outstanding traffic infringements, by preventing them from renewing their licences or transferring vehicle ownership.

OUTA also contends that President Cyril Ramaphosa acted unlawfully and irrationally in proclaiming the system.
