Five people are dead and 41 missing after a ferry caught fire off the coast of Indonesia's Java island on Sunday (Aug 2). The Mutiara Sentosa 2 ferry was traveling from Indonesia's second-largest city of Surabaya in East Java to the city of Makassar in South Sulawesi. While 225 passengers have been rescued — some after jumping overboard before being picked up by nearby ships — flammable hazards on the burning vessel hampered further rescue efforts. Basarnas, Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency said a larger rescue operation was headed to the site. #indonesia #indonesianews
