LGE 2026 | Voter registration weekend update from Khayelitsha

It is the last day of the IEC's Voter Registration Weekend. Key areas of focus today include Du Noon, Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain, communities that are also plagued by rampant gang and gun violence.

Extortion rackets and gun violence are on the increase in the area.

It is also where a DA ward by-election candidate was gunned-down in the June Voter Registration Weekend.
