World Ranger Day | SANParks hosts event to honour rangers

The Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park in the Western Cape says rangers who protect natural heritage also need to be protected at all costs.

SANParks is hosting the provincial celebration of World Ranger Day at the park.

The global death rate of rangers is on the rise, with almost a third of the almost 150 deaths so far this year occurring in Africa.

The day honours and remembers rangers who've lost their lives or sustained injuries in the line of duty.
