LGE 2026 | Final Voter Registration Weekend continues at Jeppe Hostel

There are just a few hours left before voting stations close for the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC)'s Final Voter Registration weekend.

The IEC says so far, around 238000 voters have registered on Saturday, with 13.4 % of them, first-time voters.

The province of KwaZulu-Natal is leading the nation with the largest number of registrations at 55000, followed by the Eastern Cape with 46000, and Gauteng is in third with 41000 voters.

SABC News reporter Calvin Dludla was in Jeppe Hostel, monitoring activities at a voting station in the area.
