Government moves to end Vaal power outages following intense Government Imbizo

The Department of Electricity and Energy has outlined key normalisation strategies aimed at ending persistent power outages affecting residents in the Vaal.

The plans were presented during a highly charged Gauteng Government Wednesday Imbizo, led by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, in Evaton, south of Johannesburg.

Several communities across the Vaal have been experiencing frequent un-planned power outages, sparking violent protests.
