Assisting men to face emotional challenges through baking

July was Mental Illness Awareness Month, and to help men struggling with mental health, a unique initiative in Durban is using the heat of the oven, to assist then face some of their toughest emotional challenges.

A group of men from the area have rolled up their sleeves through a programme called 'Baking to Heal', swapping tough exterior stereotypes for apron strings and dough. The project aims to foster brotherhood, combat unemployment, and create a safe space for personal recovery. Senior reporter Jayed Paulse filed this story.
