Japan creates a centralized intelligence system: Should Asia be worried?

Japan has launched its biggest intelligence restructuring since World War II, creating a new centralized system built around the National Intelligence Council and the National Intelligence Bureau. For decades, Japan has relied heavily on US intelligence capabilities. Now, Tokyo appears to be bolstering its domestic apparatus, and the shift is raising questions: What is driving it?
