#WATCH | Addressing the Cabinet briefing, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Union Cabinet has approved the extension of the PM-KISAN scheme.

Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹2,000 in direct income support three times a year to help meet agricultural expenses such as seeds and fertilisers. Vaishnaw said the scheme has significantly reduced farmers' dependence on informal borrowing, with nearly ₹3 lakh crore disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) over the past five years.
