Mombasa County Government orders immediate recruitment of 573 nurses on contract

The Mombasa County Government has ordered the immediate recruitment of 573 nurses on contract to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services following a nationwide strike called by the Kenya National Union of Nurses and Midwives. Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir, who also chairs the Council of Governors' Health Committee, said the move was aimed at safeguarding access to healthcare while negotiations between county governments and the nurses' union continue.
