Violence in Israel as Jerusalem and Nakba Days overlap

Violent clashes broke out between nationalist Israeli young men and Palestinian residents during Jerusalem Day celebrations inside the Old City as some marked the anniversary of the six-day Israeli-Arab War of 1967.

This year, the event overlapped with activities commemorating Nakba Day, what many Palestinians call 'Day of Catastrophe,' following a forced displacement from their homeland in 1948.
