UK poll shows rising calls for Starmer to resign after local election losses

Southend-on-Sea has a long history as a popular seaside resort, but many residents now say they want Prime Minister Keir Starmer to go.
Labour came to power in a landslide win in 2024, promising change and a stable economy. A recent poll by More in Common suggested 53 percent of people want Starmer to resign, including many who voted Labour in the general election. But as Starmer's political rivals in the Labour Party appear to be preparing to strike, a change of leadership may not be enough to convince some of the British public.
