China's zero tariff saves one African importer $1 million per year

BIG NEWS from Shenzhen Port! The clock struck zero on May 1, 2026 – and so did the tariffs. The first shipment under #China's zero-tariff policy for all African countries with which it has diplomatic relations just cleared customs: 24 tonnes of fresh South African apples. One importer already says 20,000 yuan saved per container. Estimated yearly savings? 10 million yuan – that's $1.46 million!
