Springboks vs Barbarians | Family support for Bok debutants

Springbok fever has hit the Friendly City as the Springboks gear up to take on the Barbarians in their season opener at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

While all eyes will be on the world champions, it is a particularly special day for the families of the uncapped players who could take to the field in the green and gold for the first time.


The 23-year old Paul de Villiers is among five uncapped players named in the Springbok squad, and is in line to make his debut.

SABC News Reporter Sisipho Ngcumbe is in the stands and earlier caught up with his family, who are among the thousands of fans hoping to witness a dream, years in the making, come true.
