ANC-SACP dual membership rule ahead of the LGE

ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says the party remains adamant that members of alliance partner, the South African Communist Party, cannot campaign for both parties ahead of the local government elections. The SACP has taken a resolution to contest elections independently, citing the ANC's failure to reconfigure the alliance. Mbalula was speaking on the sidelines of the funeral of the father of Polokwane mayor and ANC Limpopo Deputy-Chairperson, John Mpe, in Polokwane, Limpopo. Donald Molepo passed away last week at the age of 77.
