*Parliament's Impeachment Committee plans to appeal last week's Western Cape High Court judgment that granted President Cyril Ramaphosa's bid to halt the committee's work.
The committee heard that it can only go ahead with preparatory work, like deciding on terms of reference and appointing an evidence leader.

*Commission Chair, Retired Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, has ordered businessman Suliman Carrim to appear in person on 14 August, unless he has voluntarily subjects himself to an independent medical evaluation.
That medical examination should take place on, or before, Monday 3 August.

*The High Court in Johannesburg has denied the bail appeal of alleged political fixer, Brown Mogotsi.
He approached the High Court after two failed bail applications at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court.

*The OR Tambo District Municipality in the Eastern Cape has dispatched disaster management teams to areas experiencing heavy rainfall.
Water levels are gradually rising at Greens Farm, and some areas in the CBD of the small coastal town of Port St Johns.
