Major-General Sizakhele Dyantyi has been appointed as the Western Cape's new Police Commissioner, He replaces Lieutenant-General, Thembisile Patekile, who retired at the end of June after serving as provincial police commissioner since July 2021. Dyantyi's appointment has been announced at a media briefing at the SAPS' head office in Green Point.
