Malaysia Politics: Early voting concludes in Negeri Sembilan with 91% voter turnout

Early voting has wrapped up in Malaysia's Negeri Sembilan state election, following the closure of all 38 polling stations across the state at 5pm local time. More than 16,000 military and police personnel, along with their spouses were eligible to cast ballots in person ahead of the main election day. Eligible postal voters stood at nearly 6,000. The Election Commission says that a total of nearly 15,000 people had voted in person for early polling, putting turnout at 91%. A total of 103 candidates are contesting the state's 36 seats. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's Pakatan Harapan is contesting in all the seats, while Barisan Nasional - or BN - is fielding 25 candidates. General polling will take place this Saturday.
