Iran's all-time leading World Cup goalscorer, Ramin Rezaeian, scored against Egypt in a dramatic 1-1 draw before delivering an emotional message after the match on June 26.

Rezaeian questioned the referee's offside decision after Iran thought they had scored a late winner, saying, "My people in Iran deserve more than everything. They deserve happiness." He insisted Iran "deserved to win" and said the players had sacrificed everything for their country.

While Egypt and Belgium have booked their places in the knockout stage, Iran still has a historic chance of reaching the World Cup knockout rounds for the first time. Their fate now depends on the results of the remaining group matches on June 27.
