'You're a great leader': Trump praises Xi during talks

US President Donald Trump praised Chinese President Xi Jinping during their meeting in Beijing, calling him "a great leader" and saying it was "an honor" to be his friend. Trump said the two countries had worked through difficulties in the past and predicted that the relationship between China and the United States would be "better than ever before." The remarks came as the two leaders held high-level talks during Trump's state visit to China.
