As of tomorrow (06 May 2026), South African motorists are facing steep fuel price hikes. The price of diesel is set to surge past the R32 per litre mark.

According to the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, the retail price for all grades of petrol will surge by 3-rand-and-27 cents per litre, diesel by six-rand-and-19 cents per litre and illuminating paraffin is set to rise by four-rand-and-22 cents a litre.
