DRC and Uganda battle new Ebola outbreaks as deaths rise and regional alert intensifies

The Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda are battling new outbreaks of the highly infectious Ebola virus. The DRC has confirmed the deaths of at least 80 people, and Uganda has now confirmed one death as well. Africa’s top health agency is calling for urgent regional coordination to prevent cross-border spread.
