Madlanga Commission | Johnson acknowledges shortcomings

Former Investigative Directorate Against Corruption head Advocate Andrea Johnson is expected to return to the witness stand this morning.

Johnson has conceded at the Madlanga Commission that investigations conducted without properly verifying the supporting evidence can be problematic.

She further conceded that she authorised the summonses based on briefings by investigators, without personally verifying the underlying evidence. Johnson is being probed over the arrest of Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo and six others.
