Firefighters battle wildfires in France's Bordeaux

Authorities in the French region of Gironde say conditions were stable as fires threaten to encroach into the city of Bordeaux.

The city's mayor has warned that this major wildfire, that has forced more than 200 000 people to evacuate, had reached the gates of the municipality.

Conditions have temporarily improved but fire fighters say it could take weeks or even months to fully douse the flames.
