*The National Prosecuting Authority has withdrawn prosecution against police crime intelligence officials - including its head. Lt-Gen Dumisani Khumalo.
This means the IDAC's case - which led to clashes between top police officers and the directorate - has all but collapsed and will be withdrawn from the court roll.

*The former Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Advocate Andrea Johnson is expected to continue to testify before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria this morning.

*Social grants recipients who currently use the SASSA gold card may not be able to access their money after the end of next month.
They have until the end of August to the new Post Bank Black cards.
The gold cards wil be complelety phased out on August the 31st.

*Firefighters in France and Spain are racing to bring huge wildfires under control before another heatwave this week that will complicate efforts to tame the flames.

*South Africa have made a poor start to their CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 campaign after they were beaten 2-1 by Tanzania in their Group B opener in Casablanca last night.
