Former Acting Chief of Staff at US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Deborah Fleischaker, says a rush to hire officers and a focus on detention numbers is causing fatal mistakes in the field. She was speaking two weeks after a 26-year-old Colombian national was shot dead in Maine.
