India has announced a task force to overhaul the country's examination system, following weeks of youth protests over exam paper leaks. Speaking to CNA's Asia First, Devesh Kapur, Starr Foundation Professor of South Asia Studies at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, says the government's swift concessions have dented the "aura of invincibility" surrounding Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He argues the speed of the response reflects concern that the protests were becoming a much more serious political issue, adding that the exam crisis reflects deeper youth frustration over limited economic opportunities.
