Survivors of police brutality and human rights defenders are calling on the government to fast-track the public order management bill in order to establish public order regulations ahead of the 2027 general elections. The human rights advocates argue that the gazettement of the regulations ahead of next year’s elections will significantly reduce potential human rights violation incidents. As Wycliffe Oketch reports, the advocates against human rights abuses have formed a nationwide movement dubbed the Kenya Champions of Justice to help amplify advocacy efforts.
