Kaaps dictionary workshop

Authors of the Kaaps dictionary - a work that compiles the spelling and definitions of the most colourful and expressive use of Afrikaans - say they hope more literary works will appear in the dialect.

In a labour of love that took more than five years, a group of lecturers have compiled a dictionary that codifies a language birth among slaves on the continent.

The compilers says with the ever expanding language, the dictionary is bound to grow in the next few years.
