The Russian School of Ballet is proud to announce that Candice Desilets has graduated from the prestigious Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, after four years of intensive training at the institution behind the world's most rigorous and celebrated classical ballet education.
Candice made history in 2022 as the first South African dancer ever accepted into the Academy, and now in 2026, she becomes the first to graduate.
Her journey began at The Russian School of Ballet in 2016 at just 10 years old, under Founder and Director Yana Auger, who has taught the authentic Vaganova method in South Africa since 2009.
This milestone marks not only a personal achievement for Candice, but a proud moment for South African ballet on the global stage. She joins us now in the studio with the Founder and Director, Yana Auger.
