#WATCH | Kumaon IG clarified the case of a constable who appeared at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, in police uniform and claimed to have resigned from service. Police stated that he had been absent from Pithoragarh district without authorisation since 28 June 2026 and was suspended on 20 July 2026 after failing to respond to a notice.

The constable also has a previous criminal history, with an FIR registered against him in Haridwar for alleged involvement in organised crime.
