* President Cyril Ramaphosa is awaiting a judgment from the Western Cape High Court tomorrow. The President will learn whether he must answer before a parliamentary impeachment committee when the court rules on his urgent application for an interdict.

* Civil society organisation, Public Interest SA has lodged a complaint against IDAC Head, Advocate Andrea Johnson with the Legal Practice Council. In the complaint, the organisation calls for disciplinary investigations into Johnson's conduct, following what it describes as "damning concessions" before the Madlanga Commission.

* The South African Reserve Bank's Monetary Policy Committee voted to keep the repo rate steady at 7.percent, holding the prime lending rate at 10.5 percent. Despite headline inflation accelerating to 5. percent in June, the central bank paused further rate hikes in a 4-2 split decision to provide relief to indebted consumers.

* The oil price has climbed back above $100 a barrel for the first time in two months. This as a fresh escalation of the Middle East conflict threatens to compound disruption to global oil supplies. The price started to climb again after the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran fell apart and fresh hostilities broke out in the Gulf.

* Hundreds of foreign nationals continue to camp on the pavements outside the Department of Home Affairs' Refugee Reception Office in Durban, after fleeing their communities amid anti-immigration protests. Many say they've lost their homes, their jobs and their sense of security. Now, with children out of school and persistent tensions, they are pleading for protection.
