Residents raise alarm over rising crime in Barberton

Concern is mounting over rising crime in Barberton, Mpumalanga.

Residents say the town has become a hotspot for illegal mining, drugs, and the hijacking of buildings. They accuse undocumented foreign nationals of contributing to criminal activitities and are demanding tougher law enforcement.

The community marched through the town, stopping at foreign-owned shops, the police station, Mbombela Municipal offices and the Department of Home Affairs.
