Credibility of Matlala state witness challenged

Counsel for the second accused in the attempted murder trial of Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala and four others, has argued that the state's first witness could have been the person who shot businessman, Joe Sibanyoni.

Unknown hitmen shot and wounded Sibanyoni in 2022 at the Centurion Golf Estate.

Matlala, his wife Tsakani Matlala, Tiego Mabusela, Musa Kekana, and Nthabiseng Nzama are on trial in the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg for the attempted murder and conspiracy to kill Sibanyoni, music producer Seunkie Mokubung, and socialite Tebogo Thobejane.
