"I Am Still Alive": Sonam Wangchuk's Hospital Message on Day 25 of Fast | What Is He Demanding?

Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary: On the 25th day of his hunger strike, activist Sonam Wangchuk released a video message from a hospital in Gurugram, saying, "I am still alive." He said he has lost around 11 kg and considerable muscle mass during the fast but is currently doing fine under medical observation. Wangchuk reiterated that he would end his fast if the government assures that no police action, arrests, or harassment will be taken against the students and protesters who joined Monday's march. Earlier, he also wrote to Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, thanking them for visiting him in the hospital and urging that he wants to resume his work once such an assurance is given.

Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary: 25वें दिन की भूख हड़ताल के दौरान गुरुग्राम के अस्पताल से सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता सोनम वांगचुक ने वीडियो संदेश जारी करते हुए कहा, "मैं अभी भी ज़िंदा हूँ।" उन्होंने बताया कि अनशन के दौरान उनका लगभग 11 किलो वजन और काफी मांसपेशियां कम हुई हैं, लेकिन उनकी हालत फिलहाल ठीक है। वांगचुक ने कहा कि अगर सरकार यह भरोसा दे कि मार्च में शामिल छात्रों और प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ कोई पुलिस कार्रवाई, गिरफ्तारी या उत्पीड़न नहीं होगा, तो वह अपना अनशन समाप्त कर देंगे। इससे पहले उन्होंने केंद्रीय मंत्री जेपी नड्डा और जितेंद्र सिंह को पत्र लिखकर अस्पताल में मुलाकात के लिए धन्यवाद दिया और कहा कि वह अपना काम फिर से शुरू करना चाहते हैं, लेकिन इसके लिए सरकार का स्पष्ट आश्वासन जरूरी है।
