Why do Schwarzman Scholars value potential over top-school checklist?

Ten years on, more than 1,200 students from over 100 countries and regions have been part of the Schwarzman Scholars program at Tsinghua University. Alumni say it is a program not only for elites but also for people from all walks of life, such as a scholar from a small town whose potential was recognized. Others embraced a mindset of doing what seems impossible and grew through challenges. From Pu'er tea fields in Yunnan to vibrant cities like Guangzhou, they discovered diverse ways of life in China.
