Same standards apply to PAP MPs: PM Wong on Faishal’s resignation

The same standards and consequences will apply to other Members of Parliament in the People’s Action Party should a matter similar to what led Associate Professor Faishal Ibrahim to resign occur, said Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Wednesday (Jul 22).

He also explained why an exception should not be made for Assoc Prof Faishal as doing so “will only cause more damage and harm to Singapore”.

Assoc Prof Faishal resigned from politics on Monday after his interactions with a woman “fell short” of standards required of a political office holder.
